Tracking 3DE – w4/5

This couple weeks I’ve spent tracking the footage in 3D Equalizer and exporting it to Maya. In 3DE, you need to place the tracking points one by one, and when you have a big area to cover it can feel a bit overwhelming. I had a session with Dom, which is our 3DE tutor, and… Continue reading Tracking 3DE – w4/5

Modeling – w3

Last week, while talking to Nick, he made me visualise and avoid a future dificulty I could have. Before I was modeling the building using a primitive cube, and Nick said it would be dificult to open the UV later since I would have so many details in only one shape. Now, I was advised… Continue reading Modeling – w3

Concept – w2

This week I started to block the building I want to extend to have a better visualization of what I’m aiming for. First, I tracked the footage in Nuke building a 3D scene. Although the tracking seems pretty solid and the cards are sticking well to the wall and roof, when it gets to the… Continue reading Concept – w2

Tracking and Modelling 1

This week I started to model the building, but before that, I had to track the scene. I want to track it using both Nuke and 3DEqualizer, so that I can pratice in both software. First and did it in Nuke, created a camera and a scene, and exported it to Maya.

Developing Ideas

For my personal project I want to get a plate and add a 3D model in a way that looks as real as possible. So go through the process of match-move, model the asset, texture it in a super realistic way, work with lighting and comp. I’ve looked for some stock footage I would like… Continue reading Developing Ideas

Final Conclusion

Diana was responsible for compositing everything together in Nuke, so she merged the scene I modelled and textured, the particle simulation she made, and the cleanup and drawings Jane did. Jane laso added some sounds to the video: I actually liked a lot the result of our project. I still think there are things that… Continue reading Final Conclusion

Comp Engine week 10

This week I rendered out the version I thought was the final one. I then comped in Nuke, and did a roto in the front wall so it would cover parts of the engine. I had placed two parts of the engine in the front room, so it would look like it was left behind,… Continue reading Comp Engine week 10
