Second Shot 3D

For this shot, I had to add some assets in order for the shot to look more post apocalyptic. The place we filmed was too cleaned, and it had a bench and a trachcan I wanted to cover. The goal was to add some debris and something in the background.

I started out by creating a camera in Maya, and matching the perspective. I built some of the geometrey in the scene to use as reference, and later the planes would be used to block the light from the HDRI in the right places.

I went to quixel megascans to gather some assets, and started placing them in the scene. Some of the debris already came in groups, but for most of them I had to download more separate ones and build in the scene.

The assets downloaded already came with textures, and it was great because I could only focuse on the light and making it have shadows in the correct places. I added aiShadowMatte texture in the planes to create the shadows, and also added a floor plane.

The circularized objects below are the ones producing shadows.

I used a HDRI I got online, but also placed extra lights in places I realised the light was coming from looking through the plate.
