3D Projection

This week we learned a new feature that can be done in Nuke. Is consisted in transforming a 2D image into a 3D space and then transforming it back into a 2D footage. It is usually used when you want to zoom into the room and obtain the parallax effect. Also, after transforming it into 3D, there’s the possibility to export the camera movemet and scene to Maya and place an asset in the scene.

I first did the projection in this picture, but then I realised the door was deforming. So I decided in doing it again to another picture.

I first placed the picture in Nuke and then cleaned the trolley.

Then I applied the projection and tranforme it into 3D.

At last, I exported the camera and the scene into Maya, placed a chair I dowloaded from the internet, textured and created the light to match the picture, and this was the result:
